I was driving on the highway 280 yesterday, close to SF airport and back on highway 101. My son had found a used Amplifier online and wanted to buy it. The traffic floated fast and nicely. I am reminded how life is like driving on the highway. It goes fast, sometimes we get stuck for a while, and then fast again. A sudden stop can be fatal and you have to be focused every millisecond!
So when we were driving back home my son wanted to listen to music and I found it to interfere with my alertness. I felt I needed to look at the map at the carplay when I came closer to what Exit to take. My son insisted to remind me when we were close to the Exit on the highway.
The highway had about 6 lanes or even more and I needed to have time and distance enough to cross over to the right lane on time. I came in a hurry when I heard the GPS say: “Keep right at the fork”. I had to cross over several lanes (one at a time) to reach the right lane before the Exit. We reached the Exit on time and returned home safely.
I was pondering on this today how life is like driving on the highway, to choose the right lane to avoid difficulties, to reach the right Exit when necessary and to “Keep right at the fork” when needed, and to make a U-turn when we understand that we have gone too far in a wrong direction.
Lesson learned: Be aware of the fork in the road, choose the right way. It is about reaching your destination. Jesus is Lord.
