The flight attendant announced over the speaker before landing: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!” And everyone shouted joyfully. But he also warned that sometimes what happens in Vegas also can end up at twitter and Facebook and can ruin your own life as well as others.
To heed a warning is actually a good thing because it can save your life.
After this yellow “whale” carried me 3 hours through the air from Indianapolis to Las Vegas I am now stuck in “Lost” Vegas! My flight is delayed.
It was not a whale but a yellow aircraft from the carrier “Spirit” who brought me here. A storm with rain and lightning has caused several planes to be grounded. My flight should actually leave at 10:45 pm to Oakland SF but is now given a new departure at 8:00 am instead. So fun to spend the night at the airport.
It’s not without reason that Las Vegas has gained a bad reputation. There are young people as well as old who have become victims to gambling, alcohol, drugs and prostitution. Young girls have become victims to trafficking. Some people are paying a high price for a short time with glamour. Some become broke for the rest of their life and are never able to get back on their feet again, and are not able to leave Las Vegas!
I believe that “Lost” Vegas needs a Jonah!
I was thinking of the story in the Bible about Jonah who spent 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of a big fish because he refused to go to the city Nineveh to warn the inhabitants in that city. God had sent Jonah to tell the people that God gave them 40 days to repent of their sins, otherwise the city would be destroyed. Jonah boarded a ship and fled from God. The Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so the ship was about to be broken up. Then the mariners were afraid and every man cried out to God… Jonah had gone down into the lowest part of the ship and had laid down, and was fast asleep. They cast lots about whose guilt it was that the great storm had come upon them, and the lots fell on Jonah.
They cast Jonah into the sea and the sea became calm. The Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. Jonah cried out to the Lord from the belly of the fish. The Lord spoke to the fish and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. .. The story tells us that Jonah after spending time in the belly of the big fish indeed went to Nineveh and told the inhabitants to repent. They heeded the warning and repented and the Lord spared the city.

So here I am at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas waiting for my flight. There are some leftovers here in addition to me, some young guys with Nike caps sleeping in the chairs, and some on the floor.
My sister is travelling with me. She came all the way from Norway to attend a Retreat with me in Indianapolis where we were studying the book of Revelation at Bradford Woods. We also took trips to Cincinnati and Kentucky and had a great time visiting the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Much good food were consumed on the trip, not to mention the restaurants by Ohio River. By using AirBnb We found an awesome old house to stay in Cincinnati. We have had a great time, thanks to Susan Davis and friends.
A picture of my sister in her new Las Vegas sweater. My sister by the way is eating most of the snacks here in a try to stay awake, spending the night at the airport in Las Vegas (May 10th).
Galatians 5:
“16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.”
