This is a great day. Looking out of the window with view over the skyline of Manhattan. Knowing that I will meet a large number of my family today flying in from every angle. Most of them I haven’t seen in years. And some of them I have never meet.
The cause of this family gathering is my uncle’s 90 years birthday and celebration of the day. My uncle and my cousins have done a great job inviting people to the party. I am very exited to meet them all.
When my uncle called me some months ago and invited me to his 90 yr birthday party I had already made plans for the entire summer. My daughter were going to move to another city in Norway to get a job and needed my help. I had promised to look after my grandchild during this time and help out with the cleaning and packing and driving back and forth. I was unsure how to be able to reach all the goals I had set for the summer.
But when my uncle during the conversation said: “I Love you Lillian” I could not resist it. I had to come. I was not able to deny his request knowing that every heart knows the language of Love!
So here I am in NY today sharing and Airbnb with my sister and her daughter and my youngest son Jacob. It reminds me how LOVE is the glue in every family. I was also reminded of how my own father passed away in 2015 the day before he became 90 years old and how every day in our life is of importance how we treat each other. Days goes by that will never come back again.
My father was the eldest of the siblings. My father was never able to go to the US to visit his brother who he loved very much. They were six brothers and one sister. Today there are 3 brothers left of all the siblings and my 90 yr uncle is the eldest today.
I want to thank my uncle for the invitation and I pray to the Lord to shower the family with heavenly love and blessings.
The glue that keeps families together is love! What you don’t understand with your mind you will understand with your heart. Love is the balm for the soul.
Mark 12:30-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31The second is this:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
